In a world where every organisation, from the largest to the smallest, depends on a stellar reputation for survival and success; Jana has taken an interest in this intricate dynamic and has recently entered the exciting world of Public Relations. Graduating from the American University of Sharjah in 2009, Jana has worked as a freelancer in various departments in hopes of landing a full time job in Public Relations. With a degree in Mass Communication and PR, she wishes to peruse her dream of becoming one of the most influential figures of her generation. The way that you talk with your clients can heavily influence their attitude and respect towards you. If you use the right language, and avoid talking yourself into a trap, it’s not too difficult to manage your clients.

It’s tempting to try to please potential clients by offering everything under the sun, but this rarely works out well. Chances are that your client will see right through the charade and loose trust in you.

Ever mess up a pitch so bad it had you shouting something similar to the title of this post? Many people mess up the pitch in a number of ways, from talking too much about the product, to not knowing what the client wants to hear, to rambling on and on about nonsense.

If you want to give a fantastic pitch, why not give some of these a try?

Know the client Do a little research about the client’s needs and wants, and study exactly what they want to hear from you.

Know their goals Make sure you know exactly where the client wants to be, what he wants to achieve and how you will help him to achieve that.

I’ve been to a lot of creative offices, and every time I’m in one, I have to check out their ‘brainstorming’ room. You will be surprised with the amount of distractions in the room; everything from random wall colours to weird looking bean bags, and from ps3’s to guitar hero’s or even a pool table that’s standing right next to a super comfy couch. I’ve seen it all!

Recently my father calls me in the wee hours of the night (like it’s some kind of emergency) asking me something about Facebook. Really?

Then the minute I come home on vacation, my mother can’t stop complaining about how my father sits all hours of the day (like some kind of addict) doing this and that on the social networking site. Then she inevitably joins in on all the fun when she sees that cousin so and so recently had a baby. It’s crazy. When did he even join, I didn’t even know old people were allowed to use Facebook!

It got me thinking about this recent video I came across on YouTube, with the grandparents trying to figure out the webcam (that’s some funny stuff).
